a post-it note for Jupiter left upon the fridge in the kitchen of Mount Olympus from Juno (found after the movers left)

J,

pardon me
almighty commander
of the universe
you’ve forgotten to clean
your cosmic dust bin
these cathedral ceilings
you built into our other world
only make for higher cobwebs
to clean between galaxies
have you lost sight of the mythology
that it was Titans who created you
you are the son of Saturn and Rhea
the original chaos
when married starry eyed
you refused to let summer turn to fall
now torn apart
you will not allow winter to
give way to spring
you don’t fake anything well
i gave you a son in the moon
Mars a forgotten story
our little god who sprang forth
just before
to bring war
i’ve rented a great new place
upon another cloud
but care enough about your creation
and worship yourself enough
to do the damned spring cleaning
honeybunny

J

Funny thing about the nature of things, summer will turn to fall; "weather" — we like it, too, or not… And here it is: spring. Forward.
