blood red
with open toed
awareness
hovering within
the vicinity
of a neatly packed
suitcase
containing a messy life
ready to take flight
to the city
for the determining days
which lay ahead
a new york story, indeed
all that must me considered
and still fit into a three ounce container
right down to whether or not
my unmentionables
are worth mentioning
rouge
perfume
clutch
grand entrances requisite
and the secrets kept
i am
more concerned
with the fabric
of my soul
