we have over stayed
our cosmic welcome
human cousins
who remain long past the holidays
perhaps there are just too many of us
to avoid the absurd
connected by every electrical impulse
we no longer are able
to properly say hello or goodbye
or anything in between
meddlesome consumers
eating empathy
in the form of donut holes
life here
has become a union
of unnatural states
brutally begging
for meteoric cleansing
ourselves
future fossil fuels
who own telescopes
the universe our mother
this earth her progeny
we the terrible neighbor children
she trusted to play nicely
selectively deaf ears
fail to hear the screaming
as we cut the hair
of her dead child
a world we have toyed with until
it has become a victim
a soon to be discarded
dime store barbie doll

This is good, so well stated…
