upon looking directly into a stranger’s eyes

beautiful brown eyed man
at the bar
reading my legs in the new york times
your intentions drip from your chin

sweet fruit jelly from a roll

as you stare at me
contemplating the taste
of my skin upon your tongue

after you finish your manhattan

i might love you
if i knew your name

or at the very least
write a poem about it
