Do you remember a long time ago, when I told you I was “a-political”? I remember that you laughed in just the right combination of patient wisdom, and the kindest of mocking. Well, every time I look back on the beginnings of my poet’s activism, I think of you, and that moment when you introduced me to the greater good.
